The bikes, clothing and gear we sell are a means to an end. That end is where the rubber meets the road…or rock or dirt.
The Sag Harbor Cycle Company was born from the history and camaraderie of weekend rides together. Saturday and Sunday at 7 am (7:30 after Labor Day) at the shop. We welcome all comers and look forward to experiencing the beautiful East End with you!
No matter how high you rev your throttle on the ride, the object is to enjoy, be safe, take care of your friends in the peloton and make it back to the shop for endorphin-charged socializing.
SHCC is also the hub for other rides to form on different days, with different routes, and different people. If you’re headed out east and want some recommended routes, check out our routes below.
We love riding out here and love bringing more riders into the fold.
During the off-season, it’s always a good idea to call or check the website to confirm if ride will be going on a particular day.
Join us and other bike clubs on one of these fun rides. Whether you are new to cycling or an old pro, there is a ride that's right for you.
|Every Thursday (Memorial Day-Labor Day)||7:30 am||This is the Thursday ride – ramping up in mileage but keeping plenty in the tank for the weekend. This route is similar to the Saturday ride, but cuts across 27 at mile 20 and avoids the Napeague Stretch. The ride features the best of the natural and built environment that the East End has to offer. There are only a few small hills through the final ten miles in the woods, but everything before mile 25 is fair game for the famous winds of the East End. Don’t worry if you don’t know where you’re going – on this ride we’ll have a few built-in stops to catch any stragglers. We leave the Sag Harbor Cycle Company promptly at 7:30a.m. -Click this link for route map||Sag Harbor Cycle Company||631.725.1110|

|Saturday||7:30 am||Saturday Women’s B Group Ride! We’ll depart from the shop at 7:30 am and ride at a conversational pace of 15 – 17 miles per hour. Gently rolling, forested roads in Sag Harbor give way to flat vistas of farmlands in Sagaponack. Enjoy the shade of the lanes that wind through the East Hampton estate neighborhood. We’ll pause at Main Beach before rolling back to the shop. This is a no-drop ride of approx. 25 miles. For your enjoyment, the following are required: a road bike in good mechanical condition, foot retention (clipless pedals or toe clips) and a helmet. Please bring flat-changing tools and an extra tube, plus a water bottle and snack. Ride leader: Susi. |Every Sunday||7:30 am||Welcome to the classic Sunday on Shelter, one of the most scenic rides on the East End (or East Coast). We leave from the shop at 7am (Memorial-Labor Day) and casually ride four miles to the ferry. Don’t forget your round-trip fare ($7). After a five-minute crossing we are still in warm-up mode to Ram Island. There we do a brisk lap before we stop to reconvene and break into groups, depending on who shows. From there it’s a beautiful loop around the island, along the beaches, through town and then up the minute-long scaling of the golf course in Shelter Island Heights. Take it easy on the descent, as there are plenty of people parking for church as the twisty hill winds back into town. Enjoy some more rollers along the beach as we wind our way back. If you have anything left in the tank, we sprint to the South Ferry before boarding. The social four miles back to the shop are spent rehashing all the pulls and turns you made while ‘On Island’.||Sag Harbor Cycle Company||631.725.1110|
